What concerns should I have if would like to remove my shower door and tracks before having my tub refinishing job done? |

The first concern that we explain customers is that the shower frame/track that rest on the top rail of the tub and sides of the tub surround is often sealed with silicone or an adhesive that will often rip away at the finish of the existing tub when vigorously removed. This will leave many deep impressions into the tub and/or tile that will be very difficult to hide, even after the tub has been refinished. If it is possible to keep the track and simply clean or replace the sliding doors, then it is always recommended. If not, we advise to carefully remove the tracks along the bottom (top of tub) and sides (usually attached to the surrounding tile) in efforts of preserving the condition of the tub and tile.
